  3. Why didn’t they invite the adoptees themselves? It’s as if having a huge sports conference but not inviting the athletes. How rude.

    • I’m not sure how you mean? If you are referring to the “who should attend” above, I believe adoptees fall under “family members”, no? Two of the pictured panels feature activist adoptees; one features an adoptee’s revised birth certificate (disclaimer: design is mine). No conference on the subject of adoption has more adoptees on its steering and subsidiary committees (disclaimer: including me), and no conference actively tackles the very concept of the validity of adoption as much as this one. Some of the strongest presentations of the conference come from adoptees, and I am always blown away by this absolute focus on our Voice. I would ask you to please take a look at the web site before deciding that adoptees “aren’t invited”!
